A fine site you've given me this evening. [ Scathach chuckled, offering the space across from her for Jill to take seat in. As usual, whiskey was on the order for Scathach, a second glass for Jill to drink from if she chose, though Scathach knew she wouldn't get much from it. ]
My goodness, you certainly are aiming to impress me, bartender. [ Scathach laughed a bit more brightly, reaching to examine the bottle and the color of the scotch within. ]
Sláinte [ Scathach lifted her own, clinging her glass to Jill's and holding her eyes to the bartender's as she put away a warm amount of the drink, definitely happy with the selection but perhaps that much more so with the company. ]
How fortunate that you have that inclination, as I've decided there's not as much need to be so dodgy about myself here...
[ Not that she was ready to give out her true name, but something told her Jill was hardly the sort who'd recognize anything about Scathach if she gave her more details about her life. ]
I stopped physically aging a long, long time ago, lass. [ Another heavy sigh, looking down at her drink as she rolled the snifter about with a motion of her wrist. ]
I stopped keeping any real count for some time, but by my reckoning I must be some two thousand odd years old.
It's not a natural thing, to be as I am. This immortality was 'granted' to me because I had slayed one too many gods. [ There was a bitterness in her tone as she took another long drink. ]

I've just the place. [ an address here. ] Ask for 'Shadow' at the door. I'm there most nights.

Is that like some kind of code name?

Don't do it.
Please don't.]
You guys all know each other or hang with the same crowd?

Are you coming or not?

[She does as instructed, asks for "Shadow" and soon enough, sees her in person.]
Hey, you.

[She took a seat across Shadow, and pull out a little something special.]
Scotch. Mixed it together myself.

It looks delicious.

[She liked her quite a bit, and, well, impressing her was the goal, so Jill was happy to have accomplished that much.
The bottle was opened and its contents were promptly served, with the bartender holding up her glass for a toast.]
Cheers.

So I mentioned that I'd like to get to know you a bit better. Still feeling up to it?

Ask away, lass.

Longer than most ever shall, or should.

[That was... a more dramatic answer than she was expecting.]
You don't look all that old to be saying shit like that.

I stopped keeping any real count for some time, but by my reckoning I must be some two thousand odd years old.

[What could she really say in response to that?
What can she say?]
I, uh...
I wish I'd look half as good as you if I ever make it to that age.
But I'll probably won't even be ashes and bones by that point.

[Well, this kind of turned into a bit of a sour moment for them.]
Why don't we, uh, talk about something else?
Do you have anything you'd like to ask me?
no subject
Nae, it's fine. I don't mean to bring the mood down. Ah... how about something that could only inspire joy, hmm?
What's your favorite sort of music?
no subject
We don't really have a lot of, uh, real instruments where I'm from. It's mostly all electronic, or made using computers and other kinds of equipment.
Not that it isn't any good.

Well.
Maybe not something that needed to happen right now.]
If you're so interested in singing something, why not pick a tune from your home? You're from Scotland, right?
[A pause, as she leaned in closer to her.]
Talk Scottish to me.
